Built in 1976, just in time for the Olympic Games in Montreal, the Olympic Stadium was mayor Jean Drapeau's pet project.
The huge monument was built between Pie IX and Viau boulevards, in the East part of town.
For many years, the Olympic Stadium hosted the Montreal Expos' local games, until the team moved to Washington, in 2003.
Nowadays, concerts, Cottage & Country Homes shows and other events occur inside the Olympic Stadium, as well as football and soccer games.
