The Montreal Jazz Festival promises a 31th edition worth remembering, from June 25th to July 6th, 2010.

Opening night

This year, Lionel Richie will be launching the festival with a concert at Wilfrid-Pelletier Hall of la Place des Arts, on June 25th, 2010.

Bomboléo! Bomboléa!

The Gipsy Kings will also be on hand for a rhytmic performance at the Bell Centre, on July 4th, 2010.

Barefoot diva

The queen of Morna (this singular form of Creole Cape Verdean blues) Cesaria Evora will be singing at the Wilfrid-Pelletier Hall on June 30th, 2010.


Experimental jazz

A concert uniting Three of the most reknowned modern improvisists, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson & John Zorn, will take place on July 2nd, 2010 at the Wilfrid-Pelletier Hall.


Rock legends aplenty!

Boz Scaggs will also take part of the Montréal Jazz Festivalon June 25th, 2010, at Maisonneuve Theater of La Place des Arts, while the Steve Miller Band and the Doobie Brothers will share the stage at Wilfrid-Pelletier Hall on July 5th, 2010.

The Harry Manx Band will also be performing on June 28th, 2010, at Théâtre Maisonneuve, on the same night that Taj Mahal & The Fabulous Thunderbirds at the Metropolis.

As usual, a plethora of free shows will be added to the mix and should be announced soon.
